About the place

The church was built in 1902–1904 to plans by Arad architect Milan Tabacovici and consecrated in 1911. The style is eclectic, with classicist, Baroque and Renaissance elements. The facade is framed by the Minorite friary building, and a dome with a lantern rises above the entrance.

The organ was built in 1911 by the Rieger workshop in Budapest and has 43 stops, three manuals and a pedalboard. The church is run by the Conventual Franciscans (Minorites) and belongs to the Diocese of Timișoara. It is a listed monument (AR-II-m-B-00557). The interior can usually be seen around service times.
